Your portfolio, in your pocket.

Zinfai Buddy is the read-only mobile companion to Zinfai. Import a backup once and your phone shows a live, multi-currency view of everything you own — net worth, holdings priced on their own exchanges, expenses, market insights and alerts. It never changes your data, and after the first import it works entirely offline.

Buddy is distributed as a direct APK, not through the Play Store — see the install steps below.

ℹ️

Buddy needs Zinfai to work. It has no backend, no database, and no way to enter data. Everything it shows comes from a zinfai_backup_<username>.json file exported by Zinfai on your computer. Without an active Zinfai install and a backup file, Buddy stops at the onboarding screen — there is no demo mode. Install Zinfai first →

How it works

One file in. Live numbers out.

Buddy reads your backup, then re-implements Zinfai's pricing and day-change maths on the device — so even a days-old backup shows today's numbers.

Export from Zinfai

In Zinfai, go to Settings → Backup and export. Or turn on Google Drive backup and let it write the file nightly.

Import into Buddy

Sign in with Google to pull the latest backup straight from your Drive, or pick the file manually with the system file picker.

Prices overlay on top

Buddy fetches live quotes per exchange — NSE, BSE, US markets, LSE, ASX, AMFI NAVs and crypto — and layers them over the backup without altering it.

Refresh whenever you like

Pull to refresh for new prices; re-import a newer backup when your holdings change. Everything else works offline.

Multi-currency and region-aware, exactly like the desktop app.

Nothing in Buddy is implicitly rupees. Each holding keeps its own trading currency — a London listing quotes in GBp, a Sydney one in AUD — and no two amounts are added until they share a currency. Live FX rates convert everything into your reporting currency for roll-ups, with lakh/crore formatting for INR and short-scale for the rest.

Your base location drives the rest: the market clock, home indices, volatility gauge, commodity units, macro cards and news feeds all follow the country you actually live in. Day boundaries are per-exchange, so an ASX position rolls over before an NSE one.

Install on Android

Buddy ships as a signed APK from the Zinfai downloads hub. Android will ask for permission to install it — that's normal for apps outside the Play Store.

Download the APK on your phone. Open this page on the phone, sign in to your Zinfai account, and tap Download the APK at the top of the page. Chrome may warn that this file type can harm your device — tap Download anyway.

Allow installs from your browser. Tap the downloaded file. If Android blocks it, it will offer a Settings shortcut — enable Allow from this source (also at Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps), then go back and tap the file again.

Install and open. Tap Install, then Open. Play Protect may run a quick scan first — let it finish and choose Install anyway if prompted.

Import your backup. On the onboarding screen, either sign in with Google to fetch the latest zinfai_backup_*.json from your Drive, or pick the file manually if you copied it across. That's it — your portfolio appears.

Updating. Download a newer APK and install it over the top — your imported backup, theme and alert settings are kept. There is no auto-update; check the download page now and then to see whether the version there is newer than yours.

Read-only, by design.

Buddy cannot create, edit or delete anything in Zinfai. Your backup stays on the phone in the app's private storage, protected by an optional biometric lock and erasable in one tap. The only outbound calls are to public market data sources for prices and news, and to Google Drive if you choose to sync that way. There is no Zinfai account, no telemetry, and no server that receives your holdings.
